HVAC Air Filters

HVAC Air Filters in Outside Air Intake

This air handler is a 100%, outside-air intake using a MERV 8 pleat as a prefilter, and a MERV 15 rigid cell as a final filter. It services laboratories in a pharmaceutical plant. The frames of this unit are gasketed; the box filters are pressed into the gaskets with an 8” spring clip, eliminating bypass leakage. Precision Air Technology has a complete line of HVAC air filters, including;

  • Fiberglass panels
  • Pleats, MERV 8 and 11
  • Polyester panels and links
  • Rigid cells
  • ASHRAE boxes
  • V-cells
  • Paint booth filters
  • Dust collector filters

Outside Air Intake – Boiler Room

In this service case study, the filter frames for these intakes were designed to use 24”x 24”x 2” pleats with corner clips that were very difficult to work with. We installed new “P” clips and 24” x 24” x 4” pleats with an inexpensive gray foam gasket on the upstream side of the pleat. The greater depth (4”) of the new pleat we installed gave it a longer service life, reducing labor cost and waste. The gasket kept out the pollen that comes every spring, as well as standard airborne particles. The boiler room no longer turns yellow from pollen dust as in years past. Even a boiler room needs to be protected properly from contamination. Particles become “entrained” in the airstream that follows a moving person, and eventually represent a threat to the customer’s product in manufacturing spaces.
